“I'll be there for you, with a couch and a professional ear — person-centred therapy for the things friends can't quite hold.”
Hello and welcome. Life can throw hard surprises and deep wounds. Sometimes friends aren’t enough — and that’s okay. I work with anxiety, relationships, rejection, spirituality, identity, Third Culture Kid (TCK) experiences, and the longing for love and connection.

Perhaps you look fine outside but feel stuck inside. You may struggle with anxiety, rejection, loneliness, self-worth, repeating patterns or old wounds. You might find it hard to trust, feel unseen, fear abandonment or struggle with intimacy. I work with men and women who want to understand what lies beneath—not just put another plaster over it.
I offer a calm, confidential space to slow down and breathe. My approach is person-centred, grounded in empathy and connection. We explore stories and patterns that shaped you.
Silence speaks.
Alongside practical approaches such as sleep strategies and meditation, I also help clients move through major life transitions—whether that means breaking free from unfulfilling social circles, exploring new relationships in fresh surroundings, or considering a future retreat experience in Thailand.
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there.”
A steady space shaped by global experience.
As a BACP-registered counsellor and psychotherapist, my job isn't to nod blankly or hide behind clinical jargon. It’s to offer a grounded, distraction-free space where we can actually untangle what's happening beneath the surface—straight talk, zero judgment.
You don't need to perform or keep up appearances here. Whether you're unpicking old attachment patterns, navigating the spinning-plate reality of life across multiple cultures as a Third Culture Kid (TCK), or dealing with the quiet exhaustion of looking fine while feeling hollow inside, we go straight to the truth of it.
Over nearly two decades working internationally in education, counselling and emotional wellbeing, my practice has followed real life across major global hubs—offering support where the latte is usually strong and the pretence is left at the door. Online across

Core modality is person-centred psychotherapy (Carl Rogers), with relational and attachment-informed perspectives. Practical tools such as sleep strategies and meditation are integrated when useful. The Terrain We Navigate Together
Anxiety & Feeling Stuck
Tired of being the strong one for everyone else, while worry runs the show inside and rest never quite arrives.
Relationships & Intimacy
Untangling repeating patterns, difficulty trusting, fear of abandonment, and the longing for real connection.
TCK & Global Mobility
For adults and young people who have built their lives across countries, cultures and identities, and sometimes wonder where they belong.
Spirituality & Identity
Finding your footing through life transitions, existential questions and fresh surroundings.
Rejection & Self-Worth
When being left out, let go or overlooked still stings long after, and you're tired of quietly proving your worth.
Grief, Loss & Goodbyes
Life abroad means a lot of goodbyes. A space for the losses nobody else sees: people, places and the life you left behind.

Fees are an important part of the therapeutic frame.
Therapy is an investment in your wellbeing, clarity, and future resilience. Here is how our work together is structured.

Session Fees
Sessions run 55 minutes. I'll tell you my fee before we start, so there are no surprises, and we'll agree a frequency that suits you, whether that's weekly, fortnightly or more often if it's useful.
I offer concessionary rates for students and people on lower incomes. Just ask, no need to justify yourself.
Nightline is an additional out-of-hours counselling option, available between 12 AM–5 AM when capacity permits.
The Initial Consultation
We begin with a free 15-minute online chat, a relaxed first conversation to explore what brings you to therapy and what you'd like from it, and to check that we're the right fit. There's no commitment, and if it feels right we'll book your first session.
What clients have shared
“I came online telling myself I was fine. I wasn't. Joe gave me the space to slow down and for the first time I could see the patterns I kept repeating. I'd leave every session feeling a bit lighter, a bit more like me.”
“Having grown up across several countries, I never felt anyone really understood where I was coming from. Joe did. His calm, patient approach helped me make peace with not belonging to just one place. I'm a child of two worlds!”
“My son recently started seeing Jo online for his anxiety and to learn better coping skills, and he already loves it. They are still in the phase of getting to know each other and building trust, but he actually looks forward to his sessions every single week. I have no doubt Jo is going to help him, and I'm just so relieved we found him.”
“Jo's got this deep-calls-to-deep sense of humor, paired with a grounded spirituality that showed up right when I needed it most. We wrote a song together and laughed together. He helped me untangle my attachment style without any of the therapy-speak or textbook jargon. He just gets it.”
“I did some late-night online sessions with Joe, and it actually helped me sleep. The visualization and dream work showed me what was going on in my subconscious, and becoming aware of that was a game changer. It even got me keeping a journal.”
“I was able to explore my attachment style, my so-called 'kissing frogs to find a prince' dilemma. What I was really looking for was my first love, my father. We cried together, and I won't forget it. The journey continues, but therapy has helped me.”
